Salamander in the Construction & Security Sector

Sheet metal fabrication is the process of creating custom products from flat metal sheets, such as steel or aluminium. This process is a highly effective method of production used for many different sectors, including the construction and security sectors. As the applications of sheet metal fabrications are so varied, the construction process can also vary; however, the procedure generally includes laser cutting, metal bending using press brakes, welding, punching, powder coating and finishing as well as incorporating electromechanical assembly for certain projects. The majority of sheet metal fabrications use aluminium, steel, mild steel or stainless steel to create their products; although other materials can also be used such as copper, tin, and titanium.

What Are the Advantages of Sheet Metal Products in the Construction Sector?

The construction industry utilises many different products that have been made using sheet metal fabrication for a wide range of purposes. This includes plumbing, roofing, and building as well as the creation and installation of guard rails, staircases, enclosures and many other different applications.

Sheet metal fabrications are durable, strong and easily reparable

Due to their high quality, sheet metal does not require regular maintenance. Sheet metal is also a very versatile material with many different uses, which means it can be used to build a variety of structures, so fabricators can re-use materials and repurpose leftover sheet metal, further contributing to its affordability. In the construction industry, finding materials that are both high-quality and affordable can be key, which is why sheet metal is such a popular choice in this sector.

It is easy to recycle sheet metal structures

Stainless steel, aluminium and other alloys are recyclable materials, which means that sheet metal can be reused repeatedly in a variety of applications without its quality degrading. Scrap metal sheets can be transformed into new products, which results in an eco-friendly product that doesn’t compromise on performance.
